An Ode to Vignettes
CASE STUDY
Small moments that help tell the story of your design
A BRIEF EVOCATION. A MOMENT. A GLIMPSE.
More and more we’ve come to appreciate the often overlooked power of a vignette and it’s capacity to story tell. It’s hard to look at a project and not want to capture as much of the building or design as possible. Often that’s image one. But then we move around and look at the nooks and crannies of the design and find opportunities to provide experiential images. Ones that put the viewer in the space.
Another upside to this approach is accessibility. These days our work is viewed via a smart phone or tablet, often via Instagram or other photo sharing sites. These close up or diagrammatic moments catch your eye and draw you in. There’s drama, mood, and big moved on display. Below are a variety of examples, both interior and exterior, residential and commercial, of how we do vignettes.
