Why hire Notion.
To put it simply, because we ‘get it’. With backgrounds in architecture and design, you don’t have to explain what you mean when you say you want an ogee profile on the window sash, a Schluter strip transition between the walk off mat and the tile, or mixed grain fir not VG because you’re unsure if the project has the budget for that. When you hire Notion you get us. We don’t outsource, we don’t cut corners. Every project, every image is hand crafted by one of the best renderers in the business.
What People Are Saying
“Thank you so much for working so hard over the weekend to accomplish the look we were going for! The renderings look beautiful, captivating, and informative. We LOVED the vignettes, they are such powerful storytelling tools and we really appreciate your generosity for going extra steps. [...] We truly enjoyed working with you guys. It's very challenging to find a partner that "gets it" and you guys nailed it!”
— Asami Tachikawa Choe, Gensler
“Thanks for the great set of images Daniel and Alaina! We should definitely be proud of the work we produced in such a compressed timeline. It's always a pleasure to work with you guys.”
— Cory Mattheis, The Miller Hull Partnership
“We have worked with them on multiple projects and beyond creating amazing, realistic, beautiful renderings, they really 'get it'. The team is made of two architects so they don't need a lot of guidance to understand the look and feel of the project. They are fast, efficient and wonderful to work with. I can't sing their praises enough.”
— Whitney Cooper Candido, Unico Properties
Behind the Scenes
A question and answer with frequent collaborators - What it’s like to work with Notion!

Daniel understands the shorthand we use to communicate architectural intent and the first draft is always a quantum leap forward in the design process. When Notion Workshop sends an email with first draft renderings it is like Christmas morning – but better! The whole process could not be more simple, effective, and appreciated.
-
We use the renderings in all our marketing – Instagram, Facebook, Website, Interviews, Business cards. With our clients the renderings seal the deal on Schematic Design.
-
Everyone who sees the Notion Workshop renderings are amazed. Bar none. Most people assume the projects are fully completed after showing them the renderings.
-
We struggle to keep our architecture worthy of Daniel’s time.

Our favorite part of the process is the first “Draft 1” review where we get to see multiple camera angles, mood, lighting and materiality. This is where the project really comes alive for the client and design team. We do a pretty good job of being able to visualize materiality, both mentally and in our own software, but seeing what Notion can do is a huge benefit for the project. It also allows us to see what didn’t turn out the way we visualized it and allow us to make some pretty critical improvements in the design stage.
-
We use the images primarily for marketing but also for assistance with client visualization. On Parkview West we had an opportunity to provide a more accurate rendering for our jurisdictions Design Review process and its undeniable the benefit the renderings provided in the approval process.
-
Most people did not even know they were renderings! And we are not talking about just your average run-of-the-mill client, some of our most experienced developers and repeat clients thought our renderings were photographs and it blew them away. We see more and more clients asking for this service, both with our custom residential as well and commercial and multi-family developers.
-
Notion is an amazing asset to our company. The only downside is they are simply too good and too busy! Ha! We love Daniel and Alaina and they have been instrumental in landing new and exciting projects by allowing us to market our un-built work.

I love doing outdoor shots because it was nice to see the way different time of day affects the renderings and liked seeing those options.
-
Marketing, Website, a tool to communicate what things will look like once it’s built.
-
They look great. Especially love the vignettes - those were a hit.

Really nothing compares to the excitement of receiving the final renderings and sharing them with clients. We get deeply invested in our designs and very excited to see them built. However, the process takes a long time so the sneak peak into the future that Notion’s artful realism brings energizes our clients and team. The renderings clarify the vision of the project and keep the excitement high. Sort of like an espresso stop on a long drive to great beach.
-
As a young firm, it takes a while to get built work complete and photographed. We have used the renderings to showcase our current projects long before the projects are complete. We have added them to our website and Instagram feed and they are always a hit.
-
Our clients tell us how much they enjoy seeing the teams vision for the project made vividly clear. They love sharing the images with friends and family and getting everyone excited about the project. New clients have come to us and mentioned that the renderings of the latest designs are what really drew them to the firm.
